"Yoga has helped me balance M.E physically & emotionally over the past 26 years. I have always come home to yoga after break-ups, operations, pregnancy & ill health, when I feel like I have nothing, I have yoga
I was 13 years old- housebound with M.E. (CFS)
I remember the tears rolling down my face, yet the overwhelming exhaustion left me too tired to cry
.
The pain in my legs was keeping me awake night after night, feeling waves of nausea coming & going
.
Too exhausted to move, talk, eat, cry
.
The only thing which helped the pain was stretching on my bed, I didn’t know it was a yoga pose at the time but I would hold Wide Angle Forward Fold Pose for hours, cuddling a pillow & trying to make sense of 'why me!'
.
Looking back this was the start of my not only my yoga journey, but my life’s purpose as well
.
When I was 19, I began getting into yoga more but found most yoga practices were too much for my illness. I loved the stretching & feeling it brought me so I took poses which worked & carried them out on my bed as & when I needed...and so began my healing journey
.
My whole world was shaken in 2016 when I was hit with my worst M.E. relapse to date
.
I was once again house bound, now a single mum, with bills to pay, totally lost & broken at life. I withdrew within
.
I spent weeks in silence & asking the universe why? It wasn’t long before the answer came to me 🙏
.
My life purpose was to help other M.E. warriors with my story & with yoga. All these years of suffering & healing were preparing me to share my knowledge with the world. My relapse was telling me “it’s time"
.
That’s when I began Yoga, My Bed & M.E. & from my bed in 2016 I wrote my first book of the same name
.
In just over 2 years my book has sold all over the world, I have connected with amazing warriors, set up a Zen yoga website & now writing my second book
.
Yoga is my life, my passion, my work, my purpose & I am honoured to be walking this healing path & helping others along the way" ❤ Donna .
