The essentials

Music Therapy

  1. Who it supports

Our music and DJ rehabilitation program supports Ukrainian veterans and serving military personnel recovering from physical injuries, psychological trauma and the wider effects of war. The sessions offer an accessible, creative space where participants can explore music, express themselves and reconnect with others during rehabilitation.

  2. What it involves

Delivered at “Galychyna” State Rehabilitation Center, sessions introduce participants to DJ equipment, music selection, mixing and creative sound exploration. Through guided, hands-on activities, participants learn practical DJ skills, experiment with different musical styles and experience the enjoyment of creating and sharing music in a relaxed, supportive setting.

  3. Who delivers it

Sessions are led by qualified therapists, bringing together therapeutic experience and practical music skills. This combination creates a supportive environment where participants can learn, experiment and express themselves through music at their own pace.

  4. Partners involved

The program is delivered in partnership with “Galychyna” State Rehabilitation Center, integrating creative activities into the wider rehabilitation environment. Fierce Calm provides the therapeutic program and specialist facilitation, working alongside the centre to expand opportunities for meaningful activity, self-expression and psychosocial recovery.

  5. What it aims to support

The program aims to strengthen emotional wellbeing, self-expression, concentration, confidence and social connection. Music offers opportunities for creativity, enjoyment and personal achievement, helping participants develop new skills, rediscover interests and build a sense of identity and purpose beyond their experiences of war.
