About this project
- 01
Who it supports
Our children's yoga therapy program supports young patients at UNBROKEN KIDS in Lviv, including children recovering from serious injuries, medical treatment and the physical and psychological consequences of war. The program offers gentle, age-appropriate therapeutic activities adapted to each child's abilities, emotional needs and stage of recovery.
- 02
What it involves
Delivered within the UNBROKEN KIDS rehabilitation setting, sessions combine age-appropriate therapeutic yoga, gentle movement, breathing exercises, relaxation and playful activities. Practices are adapted to children's physical capabilities and medical needs, offering opportunities to explore movement, develop confidence and experience a sense of calm and control. The program complements wider rehabilitation care, recognising that recovery involves not only physical healing but also emotional security, confidence and opportunities for positive childhood experiences.
- 03
Who delivers it
Sessions are delivered by Fierce Calm's Ukrainian therapeutic practitioners, drawing on specialist training in trauma-informed yoga and therapeutic movement. Working within the children's rehabilitation environment, practitioners adapt activities to individual needs, creating a safe, welcoming and supportive space for young participants.
- 04
Partners involved
The program is delivered in partnership with UNBROKEN KIDS, part of Lviv's UNBROKEN rehabilitation ecosystem. Fierce Calm contributes specialist trauma-informed yoga therapy expertise, working alongside Ukrainian rehabilitation professionals to support a holistic, child-centred approach to recovery. Together, the program seeks to integrate psychological wellbeing, gentle movement and meaningful activity into children's wider rehabilitation experiences.
- 05
What it aimed to support
The program aims to strengthen emotional wellbeing, body awareness, confidence and self-regulation during rehabilitation. Through gentle movement, breathing and playful activities, children are encouraged to reconnect with their bodies, develop practical relaxation skills and experience moments of enjoyment, achievement and connection during recovery.
