About this project
- 01
Who it supports
Our individual and group therapy program supports Ukrainian veterans, serving military personnel, former prisoners of war, injured civilians and families affected by the psychological consequences of war. Sessions provide a safe, confidential and supportive environment for people experiencing trauma, anxiety, grief, emotional distress and the challenges of adapting to life after injury, military service or displacement.
- 02
What it involves
Delivered primarily through our rehabilitation partnerships in Lviv, the program offers both individual psychological therapy and facilitated group sessions. Individual therapy provides confidential, one-to-one support tailored to personal experiences, emotional difficulties and rehabilitation goals. Group therapy creates supportive spaces for shared reflection, learning and connection, helping participants develop coping skills, explore common challenges and reduce feelings of isolation. Sessions use trauma-informed psychological approaches, adapted to participants' needs and integrated, where appropriate, with their wider rehabilitation and recovery programs.
- 03
Who delivers it
The program is delivered by Fierce Calm's specialist team of Ukrainian psychologists and mental health professionals, experienced in trauma-informed psychological support. Working closely with rehabilitation centres and healthcare professionals, our therapists provide compassionate, individualised care that respects each person's experiences, needs and pace of recovery.
- 04
Partners involved
The program is delivered in collaboration with Ukrainian rehabilitation and healthcare partners, including “Galychyna” State Rehabilitation Center and HAB Lviv. Fierce Calm contributes specialist psychologists, therapeutic expertise and program support, working alongside Ukrainian professionals to strengthen access to psychological care within rehabilitation and community settings.
- 05
What it aims to support
The program aims to improve psychological wellbeing, emotional regulation, resilience and quality of life. Through individual and shared therapeutic work, participants can develop coping strategies, process difficult experiences, strengthen relationships and rebuild confidence, connection and a sense of control over their lives.
