The essentials

About this project

  1. Who it supports

Our neurotechnology program supports Ukrainian veterans, serving military personnel and others affected by war who are experiencing psychological and cognitive difficulties. It is designed for individuals who may benefit from additional support with stress regulation, attention, emotional wellbeing and recovery, complementing their wider psychological and rehabilitation care.

  2. What it involves

Delivered within our rehabilitation setting at “Galychyna” State Rehabilitation Center, the program uses a range of non-invasive technologies: Biofeedback monitors physiological responses, such as heart rate and breathing, to help participants recognise and practise regulating their responses to stress; EEG assessment records electrical activity in the brain to provide additional information that may inform specialist assessment and rehabilitation planning; neurofeedback uses real-time feedback from brain activity to help participants practise self-regulation through structured training sessions; transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) uses Flow Neuroscience technology to deliver gentle, non-invasive electrical stimulation, where clinically appropriate, as an option for treating depression. These technologies complement psychological care rather than replace it, with their use guided by individual assessment and clinical suitability.

  3. Who delivers it

The program is delivered by Fierce Calm's specialist Ukrainian psychology team, incorporating neurotechnology into individualised rehabilitation plans. Our practitioners combine psychological expertise with technology-assisted assessment and interventions, adapting their approach to each participant's needs and clinical suitability.

  4. Partners involved

The program is delivered in partnership with “Galychyna” State Rehabilitation Center, integrating neurotechnology into a multidisciplinary rehabilitation environment. Fierce Calm contributes specialist psychological expertise, equipment and program development, working alongside Ukrainian rehabilitation professionals to explore how technology-assisted approaches can support recovery.

  5. What it aims to support

The program aims to strengthen emotional self-regulation, stress management, attention and psychological wellbeing. By integrating neurotechnology with established psychological approaches, we seek to help participants better understand their physiological responses, develop self-regulation skills and support their wider rehabilitation goals.
