The essentials
About this project
- 01
Who it supports
Our veteran mental wellbeing app is being developed to support Ukrainian veterans, serving military personnel and their families throughout rehabilitation and beyond. It is designed for people recovering from physical injuries, psychological trauma and the wider effects of war, including those transitioning from specialist rehabilitation centres back into their homes and communities.
- 02
What it involves
Currently in development, the app is designed to provide remote access to Fierce Calm's psychological wellbeing protocols, guided self-regulation exercises and practical therapeutic resources. Planned content includes techniques for managing stress, regulating emotional and physiological responses, relaxation and supporting everyday psychological wellbeing. The app will allow veterans and family members to access these resources outside scheduled therapy sessions, including after leaving specialist rehabilitation facilities. It is intended to complement professional psychological care rather than replace it, providing accessible tools that can be incorporated into daily routines and longer-term recovery.
- 03
Who delivers it
The app is being developed by Fierce Calm's Ukrainian team, bringing together specialist psychologists, rehabilitation practitioners and digital development expertise. Its content draws on our experience of delivering psychological and psychosocial rehabilitation programmes in Ukraine, with an emphasis on accessible, practical and trauma-informed approaches to mental wellbeing.
- 04
Partners involved
The app is being developed by Fierce Calm's Ukrainian psychology and digital development team, drawing on experience gained through our rehabilitation partnerships, including Galychyna Rehabilitation Centre. The project reflects our wider commitment to strengthening Ukrainian-led rehabilitation and exploring practical ways to extend psychological support beyond specialist clinical settings. As development progresses, collaboration with Ukrainian clinicians, veterans and rehabilitation partners will help ensure that the app responds to real needs and remains accessible, relevant and clinically responsible.
- 05
What it aims to support
The app aims to strengthen emotional self-regulation, psychological wellbeing, independence and continuity of care beyond the rehabilitation centre. By giving users access to practical techniques they can use in everyday life, it seeks to help veterans and families manage stress, build confidence and maintain the skills developed during rehabilitation. A central goal is to reduce the gap between structured clinical support and the challenges of returning to daily life, helping people take a more active role in their ongoing recovery.
