The essentials

About this project

  1. Who it supports

Our adaptive watersports program supports Ukrainian veterans, serving military personnel and their families, including those recovering from physical injuries, limb loss, psychological trauma and the wider effects of war. Activities are adapted to individual abilities and rehabilitation needs, creating opportunities for participation, confidence and shared experiences.

  2. What it involves

Delivered at Sirka Camp's outdoor activity centre, the program combines adaptive wakeboarding, jet skiing and swimming with opportunities for relaxation, social interaction and peer connection. Activities are tailored to participants' abilities, with specialist coaching and psychological support integrated throughout the experience.

  3. Who delivers it

The program is delivered by specialist watersports coaches, with a qualified psychologist present throughout each session. This combination of practical instruction and psychological support creates a safe, encouraging environment where participants can explore new challenges at their own pace.

  4. Partners involved

The program is delivered in partnership with “Galychyna” State Rehabilitation Center and Sirka Sport & Prostir 4.5.0. “Galychyna” State Rehabilitation Center contributes rehabilitation expertise and connections with veterans undergoing recovery, while Sirka Sport & Prostir 4.5.0. provides access to the outdoor facilities at Sirka Camp, specialist watersports instruction and adapted activities. Fierce Calm supports program coordination and psychological care, helping connect outdoor experiences with wider rehabilitation goals.

  5. What it aims to support

The program aims to rebuild confidence, independence, emotional resilience and social connection through meaningful physical activity. By overcoming challenges, learning new skills and experiencing enjoyment in a supportive environment, participants can rediscover their capabilities, strengthen trust in their bodies and reconnect with a sense of freedom and possibility.
