Meet @brityogini sharing her #yogasavedmylife story with us. These are her words ❤

"I was the quintessential late 30’s SuperMum. Corporate America Vice President, 2 young daughters... married to, trying to protect those two young daughters from, & back then, trying to help ‘cure’, a manic depressive alcoholic husband

My body protested - I developed multiple allergies, suffered bouts of anxiety & depression; chronic acid reflux, delayed gastric emptying, IBS, insomnia, diffuse muscle spasms & all-over pain. I kept going, ignoring the body’s wisdom, began taking prescription medication, pain meds, opiate pain meds, band aids over gaping wounds

.

Botched trigger point injections (aimed at relieving the muscle spasms) finally landed me in hospital for 5 days, with double lung puncture

.

I HAD to STOP

.

Thoughts of ‘Death has to be better than this’ were followed by a simple vision of a yogi, quietly mediating in a cave & it called to me

.

2 weeks later, having never stepped foot upon a yoga mat, I signed up for Yoga teacher training.....

I never intended to teach. 5th class in, something SHIFTED, transformed. And my thoughts changed to ‘how can I NOT teach???’!! I stopped all 12 Rx meds, took 2 years to complete a mere 12 week 200 hour YTT training, quit my job as a Chartered Financial Analyst, & worked through an acrimonious divorce

.

To feed my soul, I went to India for RYT500 hour teacher training, took & then taught ecstatic dance programs, & Thai Yoga Massage, learned Shamanism & Reiki. I taught yoga at YMCA’s & High Schools. Then began Teaching teachers too

.

At 48, I began saying ‘Yes’ to the uncertainties & opportunities that the Universe presents when we willingly create a massive void

.

3 years later, I’m living in the Hollywood Hills of California with the partner I met just three days after arriving. Yoga, as a lifestyle & philosophy of LIVING, NOT merely the asanas we perform, continues to inform, nourish & expand my life daily. It didn’t just change my life, it totally TRANSFORMED it & actually GAVE me a LIFE to live, vs an existence to endure.Just. Step. To. Your. Mat.

It’s THERE it ALL happens" 🙏🏼❤️
