Yoga for Gut Health "I left the UK to live in Sri Lanka with my now husband in 2016 (we got married over there) when the rat race was close to swallowing us both up whole. A stressful office job in the NHS led me to have a huge flare up of my inflammatory bowel disease, ulcerative colitis, which had been quite manageable for 10 years prior. A host of other "chronic" illnesses came with it, plus anxiety & depression"

"In Sri Lanka, I was inspired to practice yoga in a very authentic way, and from here I developed my practice into a call to train as a teacher
.
After getting married, my husband & I travelled to India where I trained at Mahi Power Yoga in Dharamshala (we laugh that we spent our honeymoon apart - me in my YTT and him soul searching in the Himalayas)
.
I was still up and down with my physical health but I felt that life took on a whole new meaning and not only did I start becoming physically stronger, I felt my mind calming and my soul finally re-aligning with real meaning once again
.
Returning to Sri Lanka I got some beautiful jobs teaching yoga on the beach & in the capital and my health soared. It was then an up & down healing journey as I returned to the UK to reorientate back into western life
.
In the last couple of years, as I was dealing with relapsing colitis, I turned to yoga again & developed a Yoga for Gut Health & Healing programme that I now teach in studios, offer privately & am now thrilled to release as an online course! I share my story & my course in the hope that my wounded healer experience and yogic offerings can help others cope and heal, particularly with gut health problems and the psycho-spiritual problems that come with it, through yoga ๐
