Meet Fernando @fpasquel_yoga sharing his #yogasavedmylife story with us. These are his words ❤

"When I was in school I was bullied for being gay and that always left me feeling that I wasn't worthy, that I was ugly and my self esteem was down to the ground

I didn't like sports but I started running because I always thought that I needed to be more thinner, fitter in order to fit the gay community standard of beauty

.

.

I enjoyed running a lot, it gave me time to think and be with myself so I started training for a marathon. After that my legs where really tired and I decided to give them a break and join a yoga studio near my place. I still remember my first class, it was ashtanga, hard as hell and no clue of what I was doing but I loved it so I came back and started practice more often until I decided I wanted to become a yoga teacher

.

.

Slowly yoga has become a part of my life and the practice has changed me in ways I never thought possible. More and more I'm accepting my body as it is; scars, overweight, underweight, aching, glowing. Each day I try to honor my body for what it does and keep working on accepting myself, flaws and all

.

.

Yoga has it own ways to bring you closer to your real nature, and that nature is part of God, part of that universal energy inside each and everyone of us ❤

.

Namaste, Fernando 🙏
