Meet @metamorphassist sharing her yogasavedmylife story with us. These are her words 💚

"Yoga saved my life because it healed me. It reminded me of where I came from; it brought me closer to home within myself. It allowed me to break down the walls of anger and sadness I’d built so high. Years of depression & despair, years of questions with no answers, years of stress & unhappiness, years of emptiness & suddenly I was whole"

Hi "When I was a child I’d wake up in Butterfly pose sometimes. I’d do poses like wheel & shoulder stand in the house randomly. My parents never taught me yoga, & although at the time I didn’t realize what I was doing, I speculate it was my souls way of intuitively healing myself from everything going on around me

.

Fast forward to my early 20s; not doing yoga as a teenager, after finishing my massage therapy diploma the word ‘yoga’ kept coming up in my head. So I went to my first Yin class.

Bam.

.

Tears flowed down my face the entire class; I couldn’t help it. I felt such a release all at once. I asked the teacher if this was normal, & she explained sometimes in opening the hips an emotional release happens. After 4 months I was doing the entire class with my eyes closed, hearing her voice guide me through my moving meditation

.

Then it became 3-5 times a week at a new studio. Bam again.

.

Tears, laughs, visions, releasing, cleansing, learning & best yet, understanding. I’ll never forget what one teacher told me: ‘You’ll change; it’ll be a slow process but it’ll happen. One day you will feel & know all the answers to what you are asking’ ; he was absolutely right

.

Yoga saved my life because it connected my body, mind & soul together as one. It helped me heal my past, be better at staying in the present & fortified a stronger future for myself

.

I am so grateful for yoga. I took my training a couple of years ago & fell even deeper in love with yoga & myself. One of the simple keys to life I’ve found is loving oneself, healing oneself. Yoga is an excellent platform to do both those things. Teaching allows me to share my love with everyone.

Thank you, ♥️ Jessica"
