In January of 2000, after leaving a physically abusive relationship of 11 years I found myself with no choice but to look inward" "Although I was successful and had so much support, depression engulfed me I began practicing Ashtanga Yoga to help with an ongoing knee injury, and followed with my study of meditation for peace of mind In an NYC apartment very similar to the  one I'm in today, I toppled over in balancing poses, whined, cried, and then...noticing the transformation of suffering to gratitude,  I survived the sexual assault, the beatings, the berating ... All because of the strength I found in God and my prayer in asana. And I am thankful for all of it Mikaila ❤️🙇🙏☕️🗽
