"Yoga kept my violin playing alive & helped me cope with the cycle of pain & stress"

Meet baroque violinist & yoga teacher Helena @hesia_yoga sharing her #yogasavedmylife story with us. These are her words 💚

.

. "I started my yoga journey 11 years ago with ashtanga & Iyengar yoga, but not seriously at that time

.

Then, nine years ago I moved to Belgium & stopped any physical activity to focus on my violin studies. It was of course a very bad decision...

.

I subsequently suffered a lot of back problems, elbow issues and TOS (thoracic outlet syndrome) which was making playing the violin almost impossible. I turned again to yoga 2 years ago searching for an alternative to the doctors and osteopaths who wanted to operate on me

.

The multiple benefits of yoga have quickly saved my body & my mind from the dark circle of pain and stress. It has not only healed my body (by strengthening my muscles, improving my posture, giving awareness of my body and movement) but also it has also calmed my mind and taught me to let things go more easily.

And guess what? I can truly say that #yogasavedmylife and my violin playing - no operation needed anymore!

.

That's why I became a yoga teacher 2 years ago - I want to share yoga's fantastic possibilities with others, and I can already see so much improvement in the life of my students! I couldn't be more grateful for it!

.

I found my fulfillment in vinyasa practice and I'm very proud of all my students in my little but continuously growing yoga studio AiM in Brussels 🙏 Namaste, Helena"
