"I lost both legs above the knee in a traffic accident. Now Yoga means peace to me: a source of light to inspire my inner self to grow"
. "I grew up in a disciplined family where my father & brother both were keen for fitness. My mom practiced Raja Yoga which involves meditation and focused concentration
.
Consequently I used to know a few asanas but I was not a practitioner. Then my life changed when I met with a road accident & lost my both legs above the knee. It was tough initially to start a new life again. Many changes from every aspect of life made my mind very disturbed
.
I also need to maintain a certain weight to be fit in my artificial limbs. These things compelled me to try & start working out again for my physical & mental health. This is when Yoga found me & I fell in love with it. Yoga not only helped to decrease the pain in my body but also made me mentally stronger
.
It is tough to do Yoga with two basic artificial limbs but everything is possible with consistency, dedication & practice
.
Now I'm not only getting benefits from Yoga but also I from helping other people in my society as a Yoga instructor. It's so rewarding be able to help others
.
Yoga really makes me feel so good when I teach it to able bodied people and I can see that they get so much benefit from it ๐ Arpita .
