"In December 2016 I suffered a severe work burn out. My cortisol (hormone released in response to stress and low blood-glucose concentration) levels were so low I could just faint in the middle of the day because I didn't have any energy left. I had headaches all the time, memory loss, concentration issues, anxiety-depressive crisis - I would wake up in the middle of the night sweating like crazy and cry during the day because everything felt so overwhelming"
.
"I didn't know what was going on with me, but being daughter of a psychologist made me be open to the idea of seeking help
.
My psychologist suggested that I start doing yoga to see if I could relax and be less anxious
.
.
I started with 20min practice every morning (even during pregnancy) and my days got much better when I started them with yoga. It made such an impact on my mood that I continue practicing first thing in the morning, before even having breakfast
.
.
I'm still under treatment and I'm not fully recovered yet, but I can say that yoga truly saved my life. I normally don't expose myself too much, but I've been trying to be more true to myself and I think that includes being real about who I am in social media as well
.
I'm more able to breathe, take a step back and respect myself.
Before I was just pushing my limits and not listening to my body and my heart 💚
